SHIPPING YOUR FIREARM TO CUSTOM SHOP, INC.

BEFORE YOU SEND US YOUR FIREARM, PLEASE COMPLETE THIS FORM
(A copy will be emailed to you.  Print a copy and include it with your firearm.)

Provide details regarding the work you're needing us to do on your firearm. What kind of restoration (i.e., re-blue, re-nickel, etc.) are you wanting done? If your firearm is in need of repair, please include details of what problems you are having.

COLT REVOLVER EVALUATION

 

As an option to consider for $49.95, our head gunsmith with go through your Colt revolver in detail and evaluate the current mechanical specifications and originality assessment of your revolver. This service will include the following:

 

MECHANICAL ASSESSMENT:

    • Timing in Single Action (Summary)

    • Timing in Double Action (Summary)

    • Trigger Pull (LBS)

    • Push Off (YES/NO)

    • End Shake/Head Space (B/C Gap) Value (in thousandths)

    • Throw-By (YES/NO)

    • Forcing Cone Cracks (YES/NO)

 

ORIGINALITY ASSESSMENT:

    • Date of Manufacture (DOM Year)

    • Period Specific Grips (YES/NO); if NO, what they should be.

    • Period Specific Front Sight (YES/NO); if NO, what it should be.

    • Period Specific Rear Sight (YES/NO); if NO, what it should be.

PLEASE PACKAGE YOUR FIREARMS SECURELY, SAFELY, AND RESPONSIBLY

HANDGUNS:

Please Ship Your Handgun in a Padded Zippered Pistol Case or a Small, Hard, Pistol Case

In The Event That We Do Not Receive Your Pistol This Way, We Will Ship Your Gun Back In A New, Original Colt Blue Hard Case And Charge You An Additional $49.95.  This Case Will Help Ensure That Your Gun Is Properly Packaged For A Safe And Secure Trip Back To You.

RIFLES:

Please Ship Your Rifle in a Hard, Plastic Case with a Factory (NOT Homemade) Outer Cardboard Box. We Will Ship it Back to You in Your Case and Box. Package Your Rifle Well so it Doesn’t Break.

SHIPPING

HANDGUNS:

You have the option of shipping your handgun to us YOURSELF, or you can go through an FFL DEALER to transfer it.
You might want to check both options out as the cost to ship yourself may be much higher.

Shipping Yourself

HANDGUNS MUST BE SHIPPED NEXT DAY AIR.
Ship via either UPS Next Day Air or FedEx Express (Priority Overnight service).
We will ship your handgun back to you via UPS Next Day Air. However, if you want us to use Federal Express, you will need to provide us with a Pre-Paid shipping label.

Using an FFL DEALER

An FFL can ship your handgun to us via USPS Priority Mail, which typically is a less expensive option. We will ship your handgun back to your FFL via USPS Priority Mail at a flat rate of $45 (fully insured).
Make sure your FFL waits until you are present BEFORE opening the package containing your firearm, so you can witness its integrity.

RIFLES:

You can either ship your rifle to us YOURSELF or go through an FFL DEALER to transfer it.

Shipping Yourself

You can ship via either USPS Priority, UPS Ground or FedEx Ground. We will ship your rifle back to you via USPS Priority or UPS Ground. However, if you want us to use Federal Express, you will need to provide us with a Pre-Paid shipping label.

IMPORTANT

Repair Work Under $350 does not require prior customer approval. Restoration & Repair Work Over $350 will require customer authorization for us to proceed.

Custom Shop, Inc., reserves the right to cancel any restoration project after acceptance if the project firearm is determined to be a poor candidate for restoration upon closer examination.
